I am a UKCP/BACP Clinical Psychotherapist offering a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore the experiences, relationships and beliefs that may be affecting your emotional wellbeing.
I work with adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, family difficulties, questions around identity, or simply a sense that something in their life no longer feels right.
A particular area of my work is exploring the impact of culture, religion and spirituality on mental health and identity. Our beliefs can provide meaning, belonging and strength, but they can also become a source of fear, shame, control or emotional distress. I offer a space where you can explore these experiences openly and without judgement.
I am particularly interested in the impact of religiously oppressive or controlling practices, trauma and culturally embedded beliefs on people’s lives. This may include experiences of shame, fear, rejection, abuse, spiritual conflict or feeling unable to question beliefs that have shaped you from childhood.
I am also trauma-informed and neurodivergence-aware, recognising that people experience the world, relationships and emotional distress in different ways. I do not believe that therapy should require you to fit into a particular way of thinking or being.
I also work with older adults, including people navigating bereavement, loneliness, changing family roles, ageing, existential crisis and questions of identity, dignity and independence.
I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship in which you can feel seen, heard and understood, while having the freedom to explore your experiences at your own pace.
I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA-P), with over 20 years’ professional experience across mental health, counselling, safeguarding, rehabilitation, women’s services and community wellbeing. I am a BACP & UKCP Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Psychotherapist (TA), and Founder and Lead Therapist at Counselling, Psychotherapy & Beyond.
My professional journey began in employment and community work before moving into specialist support services. I founded and directed Just Domestics Employment Agency and later worked with Hestia across intervention, rehabilitation, bail and probation-related services and women’s refuges.
I now work through Rethink Mental Illness as a lived-experience expert, contributing alongside NHS professionals, people with lived experience and voluntary-sector organisations across mental-health services, suicide prevention, community care and service development.
Alongside this, I developed my clinical counselling and psychotherapy experience through EACH Counselling & Support and Ealing Abbey Counselling Service.
Training and qualifications include: MSc Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy; Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis; Advanced Certificate in Couples Therapy; BSc Political Science, University of Lagos; Award in Education & Training (AET); Mental Health First Aid Instructor Training; and Teaching Assistant Training, West London University.
My practice is trauma-informed, culturally aware and neurodivergence-aware, with particular interests in mental-health awareness and wellbeing, women’s health and relationships, trauma, identity, and the impact of cultural, religious and spiritual experiences on mental health.
My main areas of specialism include trauma and abuse, anxiety and depression, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, identity and cultural issues, and the impact of religious or spiritual experiences on mental health. I also have a particular interest in women’s health and relationships, neurodivergence, and mental-health stigma and wellbeing within Black communities.
I practise primarily as an integrative and relational psychotherapist, drawing on my training in Transactional Analysis (TA) alongside person-centred, trauma-informed and relational approaches.
Transactional Analysis helps clients explore how early experiences, relationships and patterns of communication may continue to influence how they think, feel and behave in the present. It can help people recognise unhelpful patterns, develop greater self-awareness and make more conscious choices in their relationships and everyday lives.
My person-centred approach provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where clients can feel heard and understood. I believe the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the work, and I work collaboratively rather than telling clients what they should do.
My practice is also trauma-informed, which means working sensitively with experiences that may have affected a person’s sense of safety, identity, relationships or emotional wellbeing. We work at a pace that feels manageable, helping clients develop understanding, emotional safety and greater choice.
I am also culturally aware and neurodivergence-aware. I recognise that culture, family, religion, spirituality and neurodivergence can shape how people understand themselves and their experiences. Where relevant, therapy can provide space to explore beliefs or experiences that may have contributed to fear, shame, conflict or distress.
Ultimately, my aim is to help clients understand who they are, what has shaped them, and what they want for their lives now, while developing healthier relationships with themselves and others.
