I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist and Art Psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I work privately and in the NHS. My approach is gentle, thoughtful and collaborative, with a view to helping clients find a way through their difficulties.
If you would like to explore how therapy might support you, feel free to get in touch.
I work with adults of a wide age range and with a broad presentation of difficulties, with a special focus on anxiety, depression, ADD/neurodiversity, trauma, relationships and self-esteem issues. If you would like to explore how therapy might support you, feel free to get in touch.
My approach is integrative, meaning it is evidence-based and draws from both the more traditional psychodynamic therapeutic approaches and more recent trauma-informed and humanistic approaches. I have a keen interest in emerging neuroscientific evidence for psychotherapy and actively work with clients to ensure therapy is actively helpful. This means working collaboratively with you to explore issues and identify what needs to happen in therapy for things to begin to feel better.
I also offer art psychotherapy. Creativity can be especially helpful for shedding light on persistent issues. Exploring and communicating feelings in a non-verbal way using art-making often gives clients profound and unexpected insights. Dreams, active imagination, writing and metaphors, can also be helpful aspects when brought to therapy. Whether or not the arts are used in sessions will depend on what you feel is helpful.
