Accepting new clients
I am an experienced therapist providing couple and individual counselling on intimate, family and work relationships.
My practice is solution focused. People come to counselling looking for answers. I aim to help you find them. My approach is tailored individually to each person I work with. I have no rules about the number of sessions we spend together. Sometimes only a few can be transformational.
A lot of my work is in the area of relationship repair. Here, communication is often a core issue. I aim to provide ways of improving interaction and understanding, turning negative patterns into positive ones.
If individuals decide relationship reconciliation is impossible or undesirable I have designed a supportive approach to separation and divorce to help you through the process. I have considerable experience of helping individuals cope with the distress of a relationship break-up.
Before training as a therapist, I worked in business planning and change management in large international corporations. I know the pressures of the modern workplace. I understand how hard it is to balance work and family life. I know the stresses.
If you’re feeling sad, anxious, confused or struggling to cope alone – wrestling with a relationship, affair or betrayal, addiction or confidence issue – it doesn’t have to be that way. People have immense capacity to change but sometimes need help. I work in a warm, supportive and accepting way to allow you to unlock resources, find new meaning and identify solutions when you’re struggling with what to do.
I draw on a range of counselling models, such as psychodynamic, systemic, narrative, existential, transactional analysis and CBT.
I trained initially with Relate and have an M.A. with Distinction in Relationship Therapy. I have a first and postgraduate degree in economics. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to the BACP code of ethics and practice.
