I am a BACP-registered therapist, trained at the Metanoia Institute. I hold a diploma in online and phone therapy and have further training in group work, trauma-informed practice and sand tray therapy.
Prior to this I worked as a medical doctor focusing on palliative care, dementia and older adults. Having accompanied people and families through serious illness and the end of life has taught me that our physical, emotional, social and spiritual lives are connected, shaping my belief that people need to be met as whole human beings.
My work centres around loss in its many forms: bereavement, living with cancer, chronic pain, long-term illness, supporting someone living with dementia and their carers, or life changes such as migration, menopause or retirement.
In addition to those areas listed below my experience is with:
Therapy is relational: you bring knowledge of your life, and I bring my training and experience. There is no one-size-fits-all, safety and trust take time and communication. Everyone is entitled to quality of life; however they define it, at every stage.
I offer therapy as well as creative approaches such as sand tray work and images. Sometimes words are difficult to find, and creative methods can offer another route of expression.
