Accepting new clients
Hello– I’m Maria. Whatever it is that’s brought you here, you’re welcome.
I’m a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, offering relational, integrative counselling and psychotherapy for adult individuals, couples and groups. I work with a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, including trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, neurodivergence, loss, and questions of identity and belonging.
I also work with people who may not be in crisis, but who want to understand themselves more deeply and experience more freedom, meaning, connection, or aliveness in their lives.
My approach as a therapist draws liberally from psychodynamic, trauma-focused and depth-oriented modalities, including Jungian ideas and practices. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, and work in person and online.
Before training in psychotherapy, I worked in the charity sector, responding to emergencies and crises in international and humanitarian settings. That experience shaped my understanding of trauma, identity, belonging, cultural sensitivity, and the different ways we all learn to cope and survive. I bring this into the way I work today.
I am a member of the UKCP and abide by its code of ethics. I’m also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and hold a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology.
I specialise in complex trauma and PTSD, relationship and attachment difficulties, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, ADHD and neurodivergence, fertility challenges and loss, and questions of identity, belonging, and self-worth.
I also work with people navigating intense emotions, unstable relationships, fears of abandonment, and experiences often associated with diagnoses such as EUPD or borderline personality disorder, with an awareness of the trauma, attachment, and survival strategies that may underpin them.
I work with couples and people in monogamous, polyamorous, and non-monogamous relationships, as well as those navigating IVF, miscarriage, and decisions around parenthood.
I bring lived understanding of ADHD and neurodivergence into my work.
My approach to therapy is relational, integrative, and collaborative. Whatever brings you to the room, I believe therapy is most meaningful when you feel genuinely safe, emotionally met, and able to explore yourself without fear of judgement.
I draw from Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic and trauma-focused approaches, and depth-oriented work, including Jungian ideas and practices. Woven together, these approaches can help us understand not only what is happening in your life now, but also the deeper emotional patterns, unconscious processes, relationships, and survival strategies underneath it. As these patterns become clearer, therapy can open up greater freedom, autonomy, and choice in how you want to live and relate in the world.
I work adaptively, with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your pace. Alongside talking and reflection, we may work creatively — for example, using dreams, imagery, music, symbolism, or attention to the body and nervous system as ways of accessing parts of your experience that may be difficult to reach through words alone. Where it helps, we might develop practical skills to support emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, and finding ways of coping that feel kinder, and more sustainable.
I’ve also learned that creativity, playfulness, and humour can also be important parts of therapy, helping us feel more alive, connected, and fully ourselves.
Above all, I see therapy as something we create together. This is ultimately your space, and we work in a way that feels right for you, towards the outcome you choose.
Who I work with
I work with adults, individuals, couples, and groups from a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.
People come to therapy with me for many different reasons, including trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, ADHD and neurodivergence, fertility challenges and loss, emotional dysregulation, identity and belonging, or a sense that something in life no longer feels sustainable.
I welcome clients of all genders, sexualities, relationship structures, cultures, and neurotypes.
How I work
I offer both online and in-person therapy.
Sessions are shaped collaboratively around you, your needs, and your pace.
Some people come with a clear issue they want support with– others arrive with feelings or experiences that are harder to name. We begin wherever you are, and go from there.
Fees per hour
Sessions are £70 for 50 minutes (individuals) and £90 for 75 minutes (couples and groups).
I’m happy to arrange a brief introductory call if you would like to explore whether working together feels right for you.
