Accepting new clients
I am an Integrative, Transpersonal psychotherapist and counsellor with over 22 years’ experience. I am a registered member of UKCP and BACP, and adhere to their code of ethics and safe practice.
I have a BACP accredited Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling, and a UKCP accredited Post-Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapy.
I have completed post-graduate training to enhance my clinical practice in the following areas:
My training which is based on the ‘Relational’ model of ‘Depth Psychotherapy’ allows me to work within a framework of support in which it becomes possible for my clients to restore their own sense of uniqueness. It enables me to foster and maintain deep and sustained emotional contact, and a supportive relationship that empowers and embraces difference and diversity. You will be welcomed in your individual diversity, race, class, gender, neurodiversity, spiritual and sexual orientation in a respectful and professional way.
I bring to my work a unique alchemy by weaving together a broad range of therapeutic approaches, which means I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each individual. I draw especially from Jungian, Humanistic, Relational, Psychodynamic, Existential, Archetypal and Transpersonal approaches.
In Psychoanalysis, the main focus is on how past relational patterns and unresolved emotional wounds repeat themselves, and also can be transformed, in the present. Existential, Transpersonal and Jungian approaches offer specific methods, through the exploration of the unconscious, dreams, myths, creative mediums and imagination, which can have a surprising impact on specific life difficulties.
Throughout the years, I have come to see how working with a therapist can be especially helpful in terms of having a nurturing relationship with another person who really listens, is sensitive to our needs, and to the issues that we face in life.
You might think that you just have to learn to be less ‘this way’ and more ‘that way’, or that transformation is possible by sheer will power, or a change in behaviour, but in reality, the work of healing needs human connection and genuine care, that is why this work is so creative and profound for both the client and therapist. So, whatever your reasons are for coming to therapy; I am here to support you, and hold a space for you in a way that allows you to get in touch with the healing potential within you. A space where you can connect with your wellbeing and your desire to live, fully alive and fully awake.
I have been working in private practice and in the voluntary sector since 2003. I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of issues, including Borderline Personality and Dissociative identity Disorders, Depression and loss of meaning, Anxiety and panic attacks, Bereavement and loss, Abuse and Dissociation, Trauma and PTSD, Shame, isolation and withdrawal, Domestic abuse, Relationship difficulties, Institutional abuse, difficulties involving difference, discrimination and marginalisation, Life transitions, Spiritual crisis and emergence, Creative self-discovery and growth, and with Neurodiverse clients.
